Structure and Working Principle of Screw Conveyor


Screw conveyor, a widely used in the industrial field of conveying equipment, mainly by the driving device, spiral body, casing and feed, discharge port and other parts.

The driving device is the power source of the screw conveyor, usually composed of a motor, a reducer, etc., to provide stable rotation power for the spiral body. The spiral body is the core component of the conveyor. It rotates around the central axis by a continuous spiral blade, which is responsible for pushing the material from the inlet to the outlet. The casing is used to protect the spiral body and guide the conveying direction of the material. It is usually a tubular structure and can be made of metal or plastic.

In terms of working principle, when the spiral body rotates, its blades gradually push the material from the feed port to the discharge port along the spiral direction. Due to the rotation of the spiral body and the friction between the material and the casing, the material is transported continuously and stably inside the screw conveyor. In addition, the conveying speed and conveying volume of the screw conveyor can be realized by adjusting the rotational speed of the drive device and the structural parameters of the screw body.
